Triangle has a long-standing enterprise customer base. Some have been clients for almost 20 years. We have won multiple awards for excellence in the industry and we have established a service offering that is unrivalled in the Irish market. Here’s a timeline of our history.
Triangle was founded as a value-added reseller to the IBM enterprise base. We secure and retain our IBM Platinum Business Partner status as we build up our team and map out our vision for success.
Through investment and evolution we grow into a full IT solutions organisation. We become the first Irish company to form a partnership with VMware. For three years running, between 2005-2007, Triangle wins IBM Software Business Partner of the Year in addition to Business Partner of the Year.
Triangle launches its IT managed service offering. Over the next 5 years Triangle secures managed services contracts with some of the largest and best-known retail, insurance and utility companies in Ireland.
Triangle acquires Kerna Communications, a leading security & network specialist and Paul Flavin joins the management team as Commercial Director.
Triangle grows to over 90 employees and is named a Check Point 4 Star MSP Partner.
A management buy-out results in the elevation of Paul Flavin to managing director. Triangle wins its first Deloitte Best Managed Companies award.
Triangle is awarded ISO 27001 certification and wins its second Deloitte BMC award. We become Dell’s first Certified Cyber Recovery Partner in Ireland.
Triangle receives a number of prestigious partner awards en route to its third consecutive Deloitte BMC award. We also receive VMware’s Partner Lifecycle Award for EMEA.
Triangle receives two Check Point awards, Innovation Partner of the Year and Tech Champion.

Paul worked with Triangle from 2003 – 2007 and returned in 2019 to take over as CEO from Kieran McCabe and lead the Company’s MBO. Paul has extensive industry experience and has worked for various MNCs including O2, IBM and Microsoft, where he headed the communications and digital departments. Prior to re-joining Triangle, Paul was the CEO of Motech, a digital health business.
Miriam joined Triangle in 2006 as Head of Services and became Services Director in 2014. Miriam leads an experienced team of technical and IT professionals who enable clients to innovate by leveraging cloud and infrastructure technologies to deliver greater IT & business value to their organisations. In 2021 Miriam was appointed Operations Director to focus on streamlining Triangle’s internal and external facing operations to represent an integrated services-led business.
Brendan joined the Triangle in 2010 as an infrastructure architect. Prior to this, Brendan worked with IBM and Glanbia for over 12 years. Brendan has over 20 years’ experience of providing strategic advice to large enterprises in designing and delivering integrated infrastructure solutions. Brendan has been the technical account manager for several enterprise customers and in 2021 Brendan was appointed to the role of Services Director to focus on further developing the company’s professional and managed service practices.
Donal was recruited to Triangle as an infrastructure solution architect in 2005 with a focus on developing the server consolidation and virtualisation service offerings. Donal has 21 years experience across all sectors of IT services, infrastructure and operations. In 2016 Donal was appointed Director of Technology to develop the company’s technical strategy and product innovation. Donal will continue to drive innovation and further refine the Triangle’s technical strategy as new products and software offerings enter the market. In 2021, Donal was appointed Chief Technical Officer.
Michelle joined Triangle in January 2002, having previously worked in IBM and AXA, and was a key part of the MBO team which purchased Triangle in 2006. Michelle was appointed Sales Director in 2010 while retaining commercial responsibility for a number of Triangle’s largest customers. Michelle leads our experienced team of Account Directors and Managers who are focused on delivering our customers’ needs.
Mark Byrne joined Triangle in 2009. He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG after graduating with a B.Comm and diploma in professional accounting from UCD. Mark previously worked as Head of Finance for the Brown Thomas Group for 20 years and is responsible for the Finance and HR functions within the company.
